FAQ

The questions on your mind

What is EAA Article 13?
In short: The European Accessibility Act (EAA, Directive 2019/882), Article 13, requires economic operators offering products and services in the EU market to publish an accessibility status statement. The statement must include the conformance level, non-accessible content, alternative access methods, the feedback mechanism and the enforcement procedure. It has been in force since 28 June 2025.
How long is the statement valid?
In short: The EAA requires the statement to be kept up to date. It must be updated when the site's content or structure changes significantly. The EN 301 549 standard recommends an annual review. On the cerez.io Pro plan, automatic regular scans make it easier to keep the statement current.
Is the generated statement legally binding?
In short: This tool produces a template aligned with the EAA Article 13 + EN 301 549 format. For full legal compliance, an accessibility policy specific to your organization, manual tests (screen reader, keyboard navigation), legal counsel and, where required, official registration are recommended. The generated statement is a good-faith starting point.
Is the scan a full WCAG 2.2 scan?
In short: No. This lightweight check runs the following tests: missing img alt, <html> lang attribute, <h1> count, form input-label matching, viewport meta and skip-link. A full WCAG 2.2 AA scan (60+ rules, color contrast, ARIA, keyboard focus, live regions, video captions) is performed by the Pa11y/axe-core based cerez.io scanner; targeted for Q3 2026.
Can I update the statement?
In short: Yes. After making changes to your site content, run the tool again; an updated statement is generated from the new scan result. The cerez.io Pro plan offers automatic scan scheduling (weekly/monthly) and statement revision tracking.
