Why do you need a privacy policy?
Under Article 10 of the Turkish KVKK, every data controller processing personal data must explain the purposes of processing, the recipients, the collection method and the rights of data subjects. The privacy policy is the site-wide umbrella document for this disclosure and the first place visitors and corporate audits look.
If you sell to the EU or receive EU visitors, the GDPR transparency articles (13 and 14) require similar disclosure. A good policy gathers in one place the data categories collected, purposes and legal bases, cookies and analytics tools, third-party transfers, retention periods and how to exercise rights.

Frequently asked questions
Are a privacy policy and the KVKK privacy notice the same thing?
No. The privacy notice delivers the Article 10 elements at the moment data is collected, while the privacy policy is the umbrella document covering all processing on the site. Best practice is to publish both.
Is a privacy policy mandatory?
If you process personal data (including contact forms, analytics and cookies), the KVKK disclosure obligation applies; a published policy is the standard way to meet it. Marketplaces, payment and ad platforms also require one.
When should I update the policy?
Whenever you add a new tool or data flow (analytics, CRM, ad pixels) and at least once a year in any case. Stating the last update date in the text is part of transparency.
Which output languages are supported?
Turkish, English and German. You pick the document language in the form; it is independent of the interface language. The tool is free and requires no signup.
